This is an unpaid review of Bolthouse Farms Classic Ranch Yogurt Dressing. I was provided complimentary product for this review. I was not paid to write this review. All opinions are 100% mine and 100% authentic.
A few months ago I reviewed Bolthouse Farms’ Protein Plus Chocolate smoothie drink and gave it rave reviews – and for good reason. It’s a fantastic product with a great taste, good nutrition and an ingredient list I can actually pronounce. I had such a good experience with Protein Plus Chocolate that I decided to try one of Bolthouse Farms’ other offerings – their Classic Ranch Yogurt salad dressing.
A Yogurt Salad Dressing?
I guess I always thought yogurt was more of a breakfast food than a salad dressing base, but when you think about it, what are the qualities of yogurt? Well, it’s smooth, creamy, it can be somewhat sweet, it’s high in protein and it’s good for your digestive system. Yogurt has a lot of things going for it! Bolthouse Farms incorporates all of those healthy qualities into what typically isn’t something that’s very good for you – salad dressing. Salad dressing is typically an overlooked source of empty calories. It’s added to salad simply for the taste more than anything. Bolthouse bucks that trend with its yogurt-based line of salad dressings because not only are they tasty, but they’re also not too bad for ya!
Head-to-Head Comparison of Dressings
You know us guys; we like our stats and a good competition. It goes without saying that I’d do a head-to-head comparison of Bolthouse Farms’ yogurt dressing vs. another leading brands’ ranch dressing just to see how they stack up. Let’s take a look.
|Nutrition Fact||Name-brand National Competitor||Bolthouse Classic Ranch Yogurt Dressing|
|Serving Size||2 Tbsp||2 Tbsp|
|Servings per container||About 20||14|
|Calories from Fat*||130||60|
Salad dressing is still salad dressing – it’s added to give some flavor to what may ordinarily be rabbit food. But as you can see, as far as salad dressing goes, Bolthouse Farms Ranch Yogurt isn’t so bad and it tastes as good or better than the competitor’s with twice as many calories and fat.
