I was provided complimentary product to review Bolthouse Farms Protein Plus Chocolate. I was not compensated for this review by Bolthouse Farms. All opinions in this review are 100% mine and are 100% authentic.
What is Bolthouse Farms?
Bolthouse Farms started off as a small commercial vegetable farm in Michigan in the early 1900′s. Founded by William Bolthouse in 1915, the company grew because of its innovations in produce storage and packaging, introducing cellophane-packaged carrots in 1959. With the growth of supermakets and consumer’s demand for convenience, the product took off in popularity.
Throughout the coming decades, Bolthouse Farms would cultivate its produce market segment to near perfection. In 2003, Bolthouse added a modern bottling facility to begin producing super-premium beverages. The beverages were a success largely due to the quality of the process and ingredients used in their products.
Fast-forward to 2011 and Bolthouse Farms has a complete line of products ranging from their cornerstone baby-cut carrots to their super-premium beverages and high quality salad dressings.

Coffee Talk With Memoirs and Bolthouse
You may be wondering what coffee has to do with a Protein Plus Chocolate beverage review. Well, I discovered what I think may be the perfect alternative to those high-sugar, high fat coffee creamers a lot of us enjoy every morning with our coffee – Bolthouse Farms Protein Plus. Seriously, my day doesn’t start until I’ve had at least two cups of coffee! Comparing the nutritional information on the backs of my
favorite coffee creamer vs Protein Plus Chocolate looks like this:
| Nutrition Fact | Chocolate Coffee Creamer | Protein Plus Chocolate |
| Serving Size | 1 Tbsp | 8 fl oz |
| Servings per container | 32 | 4 |
| Calories* | 35 | 12 |
| Calories from Fat* | 15 | 1.5 |
| Total Fat* | 1.5g | .2g |
| Saturated Fat* | 1g | .1g |
| Trans Fat | 0g | 0g |
| Cholesterol | 5mg | .6mg |
| Sodium* | 0mg | 9mg |
| Potassium* | - | 40mg |
| Total Carbohydrates* | 6g | 1.75g |
| Dietary Fiber* | 0g | .06g |
| Sugars* | 6g | 1.6g |
| Protein* | 0g | 1g |
*Doing a little math, 1 fluid ounce has 2 Tbsp, so 8 fluid ounces = 16 Tbsp. I divided all of the Protein Plus nutritional info by 16 so you can compare the same amount you’d likely use in your coffee.
The above is just the basic nutritional comparison. When you factor in that coffee creamer has absolutely ZERO nutritional value trying Bolthouse in your coffee is almost a no-brainer. Coffee creamer has no vitamins or minerals what so ever! This made me realize that my morning coffee needed to change. One 8oz serving of Bolthouse Protein Plus Chocolate has 30% or more of the daily value in 17 vitamins and minerals. Coffee creamer has met its match.

| Bolthouse products use only the best ingredients (no, really - I read the label), so there's no cheap filler crap in there. Of course, premium ingredients also come with a premium price. | |

| I'm sad I only received one free coupon for Bolthouse products. I buy a large container of Protein Plus Chocolate every week and have all but cut the coffee creamer out of my grocery list. | |

Hello druyter I loved your great article on Bolthouse Farms Protein Plus Chocolate Review. Excellent material Many thanks for publishing that advice, I believe that it basically answers my question.
I’m a huge fan of the Bolthouse Farms Protein Plus Chocolate. I never had a protein drink before trying this. The packaging caught my attention, I tried one and I was hooked; Really hooked. Honestly, I purchase five or six at a time (usually Target) and probably every week or two. I’ve never tired of the taste. The 32 oz size is usually a much better value and it’s pretty much the only size I get now. I’d love to buy online or in a larger quantity but have been unsuccessful so far.

I love both the taste and idea that it is fresh! I am confused about milk. I don’t see milk in the ingredients yet it say it has milk. I am eating fresh and dairy free. Can I really have this? I sure hope so…fingers crossed. Can someone tell me? Caryl in NM
